State and city lawmakers spoke about the government investments that came from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) during an event hosted by the Elected Officials to Protect America and the University of San Francisco. Mayors, city council members, and advocates discussed how these investments are helping communities across the nation. Congress approved the IRA on August 16, 2022. The law aimed to address high inflation as well as high prescription drug prices, climate change, and the budget deficit.
